What Happens at an Art Valuation Appointment?
During your appointment, one of our specialists will examine your artwork and discuss what is known about the artist, date, medium, provenance and condition where appropriate. They will also consider recent auction results and current market demand before advising on its potential value at auction.
If the work is suitable for sale, we can also explain the auction process and the next steps involved in consigning it to Lyon & Turnbull.
These appointments provide an indication of a work's potential value at auction and are different from formal written valuations. Insurance valuations are not offered at Valuation Days. If you require a valuation for insurance, probate, inheritance or other professional purposes, our Professional Valuation Services team can advise you separately.
