Note: This bottle represents one of the oldest samples of grain whisky to be made available for sale. Port Dundas was a grain distillery situated at the highest point in the city of Glasgow and at its peak at the end of the 19th century was the largest distillery in Scotland. It was closed during the Second World War and it was at this time the story of this sample began. This sample is from a cask filled in 1938 and was drawn on Monday 24th December (Christmas Eve) 1945. The owners of the cask were the Improved Public Houses (Scot) Ltd, which operated a number of pubs in the Glasgow area. One can only imagine the story behind this bottle.
