Note: The Scotch Malt Whisky Society is a Scottish institution. Established in 1983 by Philip 'Pip' Hills, it has grown from a syndicate of friends buying casks to a global company with one of the most extensive ranges of distilleries on the market. The society uses a unique number system where the first number represents the distillery and the second the number of casks that have been bottled by the society from that distillery. First edition bottles are some of the most sought after of the societies releases and highly collectable. This is the first bottling of Cooley from the Scotch Malt Whisky Society which was established in Edinburgh in 1983.
