Footnote
Robert Bryon (1778 - 1852) was a prominent watch and clockmaker based in Edinburgh and in 1816 was located at No.5 South Bridge St opposite Hunters Square. In 1821 Mr Byon and Mr Homer founded Watt technical college, now known as the Heriot-Watt University. In 1832 Robert Bryson made a clock for the Royal Observatory in Edinburgh and although this was later replaced, it is apparently still owned and used by Edinburgh. In 1832 Robert Bryon received a Royal Warrant as watch and clock maker to the Queen.
