Micro Meteorite Collection 1
A selection of 10 small meteorites from various localities around the world, including: USA, Australia and the Sahara desert. Collection 1 also includes a section of tree bark recovered from within the blast area of the Tunguska event over Siberia, Russia. This catastrophic explosion occurred on 30th June 1908 and is considered to be the airburst of a large meteoroid or comet. The explosion, equivalent to around 15 megatons of TNT, felled 80 million trees over an area of 830 square miles.
