Footnote
L'Aigle (Orne, France) L6 brecciated (stone) - fell 26th April 1803
One of the most highly regarded historic meteorites - a witnessed fall in France over 200 years ago and one which now rates alongside Ensisheim and Wold Cottage as playing a major role in the general acceptance of the theory of "stones which fall from the sky".
After the appearance of a bright fireball and loud detonations, a shower of stones fell within a 6 x 2.5 mile area of Orne in France. The many witness reports associated with this fall helped establish beyond any doubt that strange stones do indeed fall from the sky.
