Footnote
Henbury (Northern Territory, Australia) (IIIA), Medium Octahedrite (iron) - found 1931
The group of well-defined craters at Henbury in Australia's Northern Territory represent some of the very best authenticated meteorite craters. The largest oval shaped crater measures 200 x 110 metres, and has a depth of around 15 metres. Their shape and the condition of the walls clearly indicate an explosive origin, and are associated with the many masses of meteoritic iron found in and around the craters.
