Biog:
Glasgow born photographer Harry Benson CBE travelled to America with the Beatles in 1964 and decided to stay. In 2009 Harry was appointed a Commander of the Order of the British Empire for service to photography. He has received an Honorary Doctor of Letters from St. Andrews University and Glasgow University and will receive an Honorary Doctorate from Glasgow Caledonian University in July 2017. An Honorary Fellow of London's Royal Photographic Society, he has twice been named NPPA Magazine Photographer of the Year.
Harry worked for LIFE Magazine for over 30 years and has photographed the last 12 presidents of the United States, from Eisenhower to Trump. Fourteen books of his photographs have been published.
This photograph was taken on Churchill's last visit to his old school. The students added a verse to the school song and sang, "And Churchill's name shall win acclaim through each new generation."
