Note:
These panels perhaps related to a visit Solon made to Venice in 1867. There are several designs in the Stoke-on-Trent Museum that relate to his visit including the sketches for a pair of plaques titled ‘Morning’ and ‘Evening’. Neither are signed by Solon but both carry Rousseau’s marks.
