Note: This box contains a card inscribed "This box was made for Arthur Mitchell, son of the founder of Mitchell's, the Brewery Company, by Peter Waals in his workshops at Chalford, Gloucestershire. It is of burr walnut, edged with rosewood and lined with satinwood. On Arthur Mitchell's death it was bought by Edward Barnsley who added the lip to the lid, thus improving it and making it easier to open. it was bought by John Minoprio and presented to his father Anthony Minoprio on April 16 1968."
