Description
of shaped rectangular form with twin shell cast handles cartouches with engraved Greenock Town crest, surmounted by two faceted globular glass wells with naturalistic covers and berry finials, centred by a conforming taper stick and all raised on openwork bracket feet, the flat with engraved inscription “Presented to John Gray Esq, Convenor of Greenock Town Council Committee on Well Park and Wellington Park, By Sir Michael Shaw Stewart, July 1855”
