Note: The arms of those of Carpenter for the Barons Carpenter of Killaghy, Co. Kilkenny. The title was granted to Lieutenant General George Carpenter (d. 1731) in 1719 for his military achievements. He was latterly Governor of Minorca and Commander-in-Chief of the forces in Scotland . His grandson George, 3rd Baron Carpenter (1723-1762) was created Earl of Tyrconnal in 1761.
