Note: Alexander Graham of Capellie was an enthusiast of hare coursing and, amongst other awards, won the Waterloo Cup, which was the most prestigious coursing trophy in the UK. For many years he was the chairman of the annual Waterloo dinner. It was through his love of coursing that he became friends with the 13th Earl of Eglinton, which is how lot ???, a portrait of the Earl with his greyhounds by Richard Ansdell, came into his possession, possibly as a prize in a gaming bet.
