Footnote
Note: Coalbrookdale is a village in the Severn Gorge, sometimes called the Ironbridge Gorge. This is due to the area's importance in the development of iron smelting during the Industrial Revolution. The geographical history of the site made it the ideal place to produce high quality ironwork, for which many places in the area then became known. During the mid-nineteenth century Coalbrookdale became particularly noted for its decorative ironwork, most often seen in items such a garden furniture and gates. A famous example are the Coalbrookdale Gates of Hyde Park, made for the Great Exhibition of 1851.
