Description
the knife with large shaped blade with finely chased scene to obverse of the body of Hector dragged behind the chariot of Achilles, the reverse with oval cartouche with engraved crest, flanked by two seated figures mermen with naturalistic back ground, the four-tined fork with scene of a crouching female figure to obverse and reverse with oval cartouche formed from the tails of two young mermen with head of Neptune, the tines with foliate and floral details, both socket mounted with interlaced design to the ivory handles with high relief carving of spiralled sea serpents around grip and with beaded rim (2)
