Footnote
Julius Rappoport (1864-1916) trained in Berlin and opened his own workshop in St Petersburg in 1883, quickly becoming one of Fabergé’s most important suppliers of silver objects. His range of products included large silver dinner services, silver-mounted functional objects and silver animals, very often using nature as inspiration.
