Description
the tray of rounded rectangular outline with moulded everted rim and engraved with armorial to opposing sides, centrally applied with simple raised stand with pull out drawer and applied with three moulded stands for chalk pot, inkwell and table bell all engraved with crest with coronet above

Engraved with the Arms of Thomas Howard, 8th Duke of Norfolk, the boxes and bell with the crest and Ducal coronet for the Dukes of Norfolk
Notes: with engraved scratch weight to underside of tray 80 .. 10
An unusual form, drawers in inkstands are unusual, however the Courtaulds made others;
One by Augustine, 1730 (illus. E. A. Jones, Old English Plate of the Emperor of Russia, 1909, pl.XLV).
