Description
the ‘spire’ cast as five cluster scrolling branches enclosing an earl’s coronet sitting on a stepped hexagonal platform engraved with acorns and oak leaves, leaf clasped finial to each corner, the circular enamel dial within a lancet framed panel flanked by panelled Gothic pillars, with an engraved tablet ‘John Carter’, the silvered thermometer and perpetual calendar dial of lancet shape, the reverse showing the movement through glazed panel and the other as a sliding engraved gothic door enclosing winder and hands adjustment, the movement with single fusee
