Description
circa 1850-60
Footnote
Brown represented Blackheath in the first Open in 1860 at Prestwick, finishing 5th. He also owned the former premises of Hugh Philp at 6 Pilmuir Links, St. Andrews, eventually selling them to Tom Morris in 1867. He made hand hammered balls and his long nose clubs are extremely rare. This club is one of only seven known examples known to us, three of which reside in the R&A collection.
