with marks for Edinburgh 1764?, maker Alexander Gairdner, of shaped circular form, with shell and scroll cast edge and pie-crust moulded border, with chased border of scrolls and foliage, crested and inscribed ASSIDUITATE NON DESIDIA, raised on three hoof feet
