Roger Dubuis (d.2017) started his eponymous company in 1995 after working for brands including Longines and Patek Philippe for over 40 years. He did so along with a previous designer at Franck Muller, Carlos Diaz. Dubuis career focus was on movements and complications, this means that his watches are recognised for their sophistication, as well as their aesthetics. Dubuis' watches regularly feature skeletonised cases, where the movement can be seen through the dial.
