Haldili pendants are spiritual in nature and can be inscribed with religious scriptures. They are considered talismans, believed to cure the wearer of heart palpitations such as those caused by grief. In the present lot, the Tree of Life is centred by a ruby, consistent with the traditional arrangement of the Navaratna (the nine auspicious planetary gems) where ruby is placed in the centre, representing the sun.
