Footnote
Provenance: From the estate of the late Lady Mary Stewart.
It was to celebrate the release of her most famous work The Moonspinners that Lady Mary chose to commission two unique pieces of jewellery from Cartier, London. An exquisite yellow and colourless diamond brooch (lot 176), the yellow diamond crescent moon encircled by a swirling ribbon of diamonds, and an accompanying yellow and colourless diaond cluster ring. As one of a kind pieces, they not only reflect the fine craftsmanship and interpretation of the book title by the master jeweller, but also celebrate the craftsmanship of one of Britain’s finest female novelists.
