Footnote
Note: Walter Scott (1771-1832) was one of Scotland's most celebrated literary individuals and following his death in 1832 the Scott Monument was constructed in his honour near Waverley train station in Edinburgh which had so famously featured in his Waverley Novels. The monument was opened in 1844 to great applause and can be seen have been emulated particularly with this card case with the date only two years after the opening.
