Footnote
Note: This unique vase was painted by Karel Nekola and presented by the Wemyss family to Robert and Gertrude Wemyss Honeyman on the occasion of their wedding in October 1915. Robert Wemyss Honeyman was a linen manufacturer with factories in Kirkcaldy and Dunfermline and is particularly known for his exceptional collection of Scottish art, some of which he bequeathed to Kirkcaldy Museum and Art Gallery, whilst the remainder was sold at auction in 1979. This vase, a tour de force of ceramic decoration, was painted towards the end of Nekola's life as he died in November 1915.
