Note: 'White Broom' pattern was purchased as wash sets and desk sets by William Forbes J.P. for Callendar House, Falkirk. Forbes was the grandson on the maternal side of the Seventh Earl of Wemyss and white broom was the family's cap badge. His paternal grandfather was Sir William Forbes of Callendar (1743–1815), a prosperous coppersmith and landowner.
