Footnote
Note: Although a speculation, it is thought that the HP monogram that embellishes these rare sets of Wemyss Ware belongs to Hilda Parkin, who was given them early in the century by the 5th Earl of Lonsdale. Lonsdale, known as the Yellow Earl for his penchant for the colour, is said to have commissioned them from Robert Heron & Son to adorn the bedrooms of her home in the Lake District.
