Note: Earlshall patterns on Wemyss Ware were painted with designs based on the formal gardens and surrounding landscape at Earlshall Castle in Fife. Earlshall Castle was the home of R.W.R. Mackenzie, a successful merchant. He held fairs in aid of local charities at the castle, and the Fife Pottery produced a series of Wemyss designs for sale at these fairs.
