Provenance
Bought by the father of the present vendor to decorate a function suite of the FBI International Hotel (now called the Northumberland Hotel) and installed in 1972, then later removed and placed in storage. It is believed that he bought them from a hotel in Princes Street that was being refurbished or closing down.

Oxley Studios was a graphic design and printing studio based in Edinburgh that operated from circa 1950 until at least the late 1970s. There are examples of signs, murals, and posters sold in recent years, including a painted map of Jedburgh, dated 1952.
