Footnote
Provenance: The Late Michael Buckingham Collection
Note: Other than the fabled Amen Glasses, very few Jacobite glasses feature diamond point engraving. All that do survive seem to relate to the earlier period of the Uprisings and come from the first quarter of the 18th century. Due to this, they mainly relate to King James, rather than Prince Charles.
For a slightly later 'Down With The Rump' diamond point engraved wine glass see Lyon & Turnbull 'Scottish Silver & Applied Arts' 16th August 2017 lot 411.
