Note: This post 1700 example of an Edinburgh Dognose spoon perfectly illustrates the evolution in design for the pre 1700 Wavy End spoon to the true Dognose. Wavy End spoons are often erroneously termed Dognose but unless the terminal has the swollen / domed end it should be considered a separate pattern.
