Note: Mak' Merry Pottery was established in 1920 by Catherine Blair as a trading arm of the Scottish Women's Rural Institute. Using pottery as vehicle for artistic expression, she gave lonely and isolated country women a sense of independence as well as an opportunity to socialise and make money for their rural economy.
