mounts unmarked, the central shaft with pen and ink cross hatching with finely cast and chased lyre to terminal with central mount to shaft inscribed 'Presented to Mr Brechin By the Psalmody Improvement Class of St. John St. Congregation Stirling as a mark of their respect for him as their instructor Oct 1859', the opposing terminals with facetted knop set with citrine and engraved foliate panels
