Notes: while this pattern is a common one noted in the North East of Scotland it is very unusual to see a pair of masking / mashing spoons. Perhaps they were part of a much larger canteen than the more common six teaspoons and single masking spoon, or perhaps they were used in conjunction with a pair of tea caddies.
