Description
the basket formed of panels and round section bars, the side and knuckle guards show light vertical grooving and are pierced with hearts and holes the shields similarly pierced within a frame of light grooves, the plate borders are quite plain and undecorated. The large bi-conical pommel bears three triple grooves and has an equatorial groove into which the arms of the hilt fit, the fish skin covered grip has a spiral groove and the basket retains it's full red liner. The massive German blade is two inches wide at the ricasso and has three short fullers, within which is a virtually obliterated mark, the point is intentionally rounded and sharpened, with leather covered wooden scabbard is in good condition but missing it's chape
