Milne & Campbell, Glasgow, with makers mark only, of simple up right form with reeded rim and foot, the hinged cover with flush hinge and engraved 'Ex Dono Alex Campbell ad Alex Kinloch' around a crest of a boar's head facing left with the motto 'FIT VIA VI' above

Footnote
A pair of silver mugs made by the Glasgow silversmiths Milne and Campbell around 1770 which are in the collection of The National Museums of Scotland are also engraved with the same crest and motto which translates as 'The way is made by force'.
