Notes: This is an extremely well preserved set of Robert Andersons marks and a boldly struck example of an early Inverness camel punch. It appears that Anderson was the first to take this symbol from the Town arms and use it as a town mark.
It is also very unusual to see a 'widow's' cartouche on a Scottish spoon, this is a trait more often seen in Irish silver. It is interesting to note the way that the engraved script has changed from the date of original engraving of the marriage initials to the point where the widows own have been added.
