Notes: This medal was struck as a deliberate advertisement to Prince Charles Edward Stuart's intentions and belief that the English throne was rightfully his. The Jacobite rose / cockade displayed on the reverse of the medal soon became a favoured emblem of Prince Charles and the Jacobite armies and is a common feature of all Jacobite symbolism in art.
