According to the artist's biographer, Patrick Bourne, Redpath had ‘a love affair with Catholic churches and ornament’ and that she ‘delighted in the apparent contradiction she found working on these church interiors - that places which filled her with such excitement should themselves be so cool', tranquil and quiet.
