Note: This work was painted over the winter of 1952/3 when on his Travelling Scholarship from Edinburgh College of Art with fellow graduate Hamish Reid. After Paris and before a period in Florence, the majority of this was spent in Spain and took in the Prado in Madrid, Seville, Toledo and Cadaques but also some of the now built up coastal tourist resorts (such as Torremolinos) but when they were still just small fishing villages .
