Note: A table similar to the present lot was exhibited by Walton at the Arts & Crafts Exhibition of 1903. As well as this elegant table, the display included the Eros mosaic panel, now at the Hunterian Art Gallery & Museum in Glasgow; the Brussels sideboard and a fine selection of his glassware. 'The Cabinet Maker' magazine, commenting on the exhibit at the time, declared it 'beyond reproach'. Drawings for the table are in the RIBA Library.
