Bentley, 1891, 2 volumes, 8vo, first edition, engraved plates and illustrations, extra-illustrated with 24 original drawings mounted on thick paper, full maroon morocco gilt by Tout, elaborately tooled with interlocking geometric designs on covers and spines, gilt-tooled doublures, t.e.g., the original cloth covers, spines and advertisements bound in at the end of each volume

Note: A very fine set, with 24 charming original pen and ink drawings bound in. A sumptous binding executed for C.W. Cowan of Loganhouse or George Seton Veitch, whose armorial bookplates are placed at the beginning of each volume.
