Collected and arranged by A.M. Broadley, one volume extended to 5, folio, specially printed titles dated 1902, green morocco gilt, double gilt fillet on sides enclosing James I's cipher, spines gilt, spines slightly faded

Note: Despite the removal of the most significant historical items, this remains a monumental compilation. Autograph letters and documents bound in include a contemporary copy of King James I's letters to the King of Bohemia and communications to parliament 1623-24, 57pp; four pages of hand-coloured seventeenth-century arms, clipped signature of Charles Blount, Earl of Devonshire, Grooms of His Majesty's bedchamber 3pp. bill of expenses 1623-24, issues in the Termes of Michas 1623-24, petition signed by Lord Cranfield, Earl of Middlesex 1623; letter signed by Amedee, Duke of Savoy, when Prince of Piedmont 1619, document signed by William Duke of Savoy, 1632, document signed by Lord Buckhurst, Earl of Nottingham, Lord Lunsdon and Robert Cecil 1599, document signed by Arabella Countess of Nottingham, 1647, and autograph signature and 6 lines by Edward Zouche, 12th baron le Zouch on petition dated 16 Feb. 1619, amongst others. It also includes uncoloured maps of Scotland (split at fold without loss) England and Great Britain (repaired on verso without loss) by John Speed, hand-coloured Blaeu map of Guiana, uncoloured Braun and Hogenberg views of Rotterdam and Bergen, coloured Braun and Hogenberg view of La Rochelle, and an uncoloured A New Map of East India, sold by Tho. Bassett and Richard Chiswell. Also bound in and inlaid to size are several rare works: Aulicus Coquinariae, or a Vindication in Answer to a Pamphlet entituled The Court and Character of King James, 1650, Sir John Skynner's Rapta Tatio. The Mirrour of His Majesties present Gouvernment, tending to the Union of his whole Island of Brittonie Martiall.
