4 page A.L.S. regarding the poor wheat harvest, asking "the amount of the deficiency for which we shall want a foreign supply... the crops of beans, barley & oats, as well as the green crops for the food of cattle are, I believe, generally abundant", stating that all communications are confidential and will go no further than Lord Liverpool, Eartham, Petworth, 22 Aug., 1819; John Sinclair, writer on finance and agriculture 3 page A.L.S. to the Earl of Kingston relating that "the agricultural interests are on the brink of destruction.. I have discovered the means of restoring their prosperity by measures, on the success of which, I could "stake my existence", referring to his pamphlet and asking for information on the state of agriculture in Ireland, 21 Dec., 1821; Lord CanningThree page A.L.S. to D. Hodgson referring to "the premature & sudden death of the grinding clause... Note: William Huskisson was the first man to die in a railway accident, being knocked down by the "Rocket" at the opening of the Liverypool and Manchester Railway.
