Provenance: Ink inscription of Patrick Robertson, Lord Robertson (1794 -1855) to most volumes. He was called to the Scottish Bar in 1815, and was elected Dean of the Faculty of Advocates in 1842. He was appointed a Senator of the College of Justice in 1843. Sir Walter Scott called this larger than life character "Peter o' the paunch".
