Footnote
Note: Muttra and its environs were identified as the 'Braj Mandala' of Hindu legend where Khrisha met his consort, Radha. From the 16th century it became a holy Hindu pilgrimage site, with the poems of the Bhaktamala woven round the beauty of Rhada's sylvan abode near Muttra. Twelve sacred groves became points on a popular pilgrimage route - the Banjatra or forest pilgrimage. Very rare.
