Footnote
Notes: The three essays appear to have been reprinted from Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society in the second half of the eighteenth century. The final essay, "An experimental enquiry concerning the natural powers of water and wind...", has previously been listed on ABPC as having a single plate, whilst the ESTC simply callls for 'plates'. This copy has three plates - numbers iv-vi from the Philosophical Transactions volume LI.
