Autograph letter signed from Sir Edward Elgar to Alfred Littleton, [on 23rd May 1902], on Lahnstein's Hotel Royal headed paper, c.270x210mm, praising the German premiere of Gerontius and acknowledging the approbation of Richard Strauss, Elgar writes: I wish you could have heard it; [with] a signed photograph of a bed-ridden Elgar in his final months, inspecting a gramophone record, c.140x200mm, inscribed To W L...[?] Streeton/ Kind Regards/ Edward Elgar/ Dec 1933; both items framed together in mount
