Browne, original purple-brown straight-grained cloth, covers decorated with blindstamped design surrounding clock blocked in gilt, slightly spotted, bindings somewhat faded, head and tail of spines rubbed [Eckel, pp. 61-65]; [Idem] Memoirs of Joseph Grimaldi. London: Richard Bentley, 1838. First edition, first issue in pink cloth, and with "The last song" plate without a border, engraved frontispiece and 12 etched plates by George Cruikshank, half-titles, original pink embossed cloth, 36 pp. advertisements at end of volume 2, spines worn, corners rubbed [Eckel, p. 152] (5)
