Sketches taken during a tour in Scotland in September 1815. Oblong 8vo., 67 leaves of manuscript text and 44 full-page ink and wash drawings, edges gilt, later half calf, spine gilt, slight soiling to covers

Note: The artist is evidently a disciple of William Gilpin. The route followed and illustrated in this album is very similar to the one which Gilpin had taken in 1776, and viewpoints which capture the most picturesque elements of the landscape are always sought.
